PERSONAL LOSS, PUBLIC LESSONS
This Sunday, April 18 at 2 pm, I have the honor of interviewing Bill Tammeus about his extraordinary new book through the courtesy of the Interfaith Center at Miami University. The book is Love: Loss, and Endurance: A 9/11 Story of Resilience and Hope in an Age of Anxiety.
Award-winning journalist Bill Tammeus was among those who suffered the personal loss of a relative on 9/11, a day that continues to twist America and the world in continuing trauma.
In this inspiring and hopeful book, Tammeus takes us to the heart of that gripping drama. He helps us to understand the many sources of religious extremism — and what can be done to stop it. And he invites us to reclaim core values that can help all of us become peacemakers in today’s tumultuous world.
As so much changes each day, may we find clearer vision and greater joy in our times with one another, virtually and/or in person, as we gain pleasure in caring for ourselves, for those we know, and for humanity on this endangered planet.
Faithfully,
Vern
