Drawdown EcoChallenge – Team SiVIC Council

April 3, 2019 - April 24, 2019
Free

Come join the team SiVIC Council for the Drawdown EcoChallenge coming April 3-24, 2019!

What is the EcoChallenge?
EcoChallenge is an environmental organization that believes the solution to the planet’s biggest challenges lies in the power of collective action. It is part of a suite of educational and engagement offerings by the Northwest Earth Institute, a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon.

EcoChallenge gives us the tools and inspiration to reduce our impact on the planet and contribute to a healthy, vibrant and sustainable future – while engaging our community and having fun in the process. EcoChallenge has been changing the habits and lives of participants across the world since 2010.

They challenge us to choose actions to reduce our impact on the environment and stick with it for the duration of the challenge. Each of us designs our Challenge and sets a goal that stretches our comfort zone and makes a difference for us, our community and the planet.

Why take the Drawdown EcoChallenge?
The Drawdown EcoChallenge is an opportunity to change our lives for good. Common wisdom says it takes at least 21 days to change a habit: if we can stick with a new behavior for 21 days in a row, we’re a lot more likely to keep it up forever. EcoChallengers share their progress and earn points for taking action. The combination of collective inspiration, camaraderie and friendly competition makes change a little easier — and a lot more fun.

AND participating is FREE! You just need an email address. There are simple challenges in the areas of social justice, transport, food, materials, women and girls, buildings and cities, electricity generation, and land use Go to drawdown.ecochallenge.org to find out more and to sign up for challenges that make a difference in our lives and in the planet.

Daily challenges start on April 3, 2019 and run through April 24, 2019. This is the month of Earth Day/Earth Week. SiVIC Board Chair, Rev. Joy-Ellen Lipsky, is the captain of the SiVIC Council team for Drawdown EcoChallenge. Sign up at http://drawdown.ecochallenge.org and become a part of our team. Show your SiVIC spirit and do some simple, yet profound things to help our Earth and all its living things.
